Choosing the 3D imaging equipment

We were planning a renovation at the dental clinic I´m working at and felt that it was time to update the equipment as well. When we were thinking of changing and updating the equipment at the clinic, the safety of our customers was the most important thing to take into account. We were used to use 2D imagining techniques such as panoramic x-rays but they no longer provided the accurate information we needed to treat the more complex ailments our patients were suffering from. We looked into the options which would serve us well in the future as well.

It can be quite stressful to change the equipment and tools especially in the field which has todo with peoples health. Along with the updating the tools and equipment the many small familiar ways of performing the actual work will change as well. Along with safety and convenience of our customers, there were several other factors and conditions as well for the new equipment we were looking for. For our continuos workflow it was very important that the new equipment would be easy to set up and easy to learn to use. We were prepared to have some difficulties with adopting the new technologies but in the end we believed that we and our patients both benefitted from the updated equipment.

After some research we chose Instrumentarium op300, which had the benefit of having the possibility to take panoramic images as well as 3D images with cool 3D imagining products. Also, it gave the possibility to use 2D and 3D imagining side by side and this way gave the clinicians the time to adjust themselves and get back to 2D images if 3D was felt too difficult to use. However, it didn´t take long time until all of us were used to the new 3D equipment and felt that it was in all of the cases a better option. The new and updated equipment gave enhanced view when looking for the causes of the problems in the mouth and jaw area and this way served as well the customers for the better treatment all in all.
