One-component toner as common and low-maintenance option

A fundamental difference of the different toner can meet their design based on one or two components.

In single-component toners, toner and developer powder per ink contained in a single cartridge, which supports easy maintenance of them equipped with printers and copiers. One-component toner come along in the most popular devices with small or medium-volume used. For optimal printing results, they can require a high quality of the developer powder and are therefore more expensive. The fine metal particles of the developer in a one-component toners fixed together with the color pigments in the printing paper, and there may not distort the color result.

Production of conventional toner requires a relatively high amount of time, energy and costs. The approximately 6.5 to seven micron toner particles adhere by their low homogeneity also not optimal on the paper, resulting in low grade in an unfavourable ratio between the required and the actual "verdruckten" toner amount. Produced by mechanically produced colour toner layer is usually between five and seven microns thick.
