A venous disease often begins insidiously

Venous disorders are among the most common diseases. One can speak of a true public health problem. Alone in Germany about 32 million people are affected. One in four men and one in two women even suffer from varicose veins.

When the veins are the veins through which the blood flows back into the heart. Each vein has in its interior, called venous valves that allow the blood to flow only toward the heart. One can get a venous valve as a small lock of connective tissue present. When the tissue is weaker due to age or genetically, the venous valves permeable and the venous blood from flowing back. It accumulates in the legs. Then adjust complaints such as spider veins, varicose veins, blood stasis or even thrombosis.

If such symptoms occur more often, it is strongly advised to consult a doctor for veins, a phlebotomist to visit. The Phlebology is an additional subject area, so there is no pure vein doctor but a doctor with additional training in this area.
